further more couldnt Kya and bumi also produce airbenders? i mean they carry the gene

Umm..because of reasons? 

no but seriously that’s a good question. And another thing could children of the avatar have bending that is not their original element? Like is it possible for them to have a child that’s an earthbender or something  even tho they’re not? That’s probably a stupid question tho. :\
